AutoCodes is designed to explain without building a history of your vehicle. This page separates local browser processing from external requests you choose to make.
Local processing
No account or vehicle database
OBD codes and dashboard lights are interpreted in the browser. No user profile, vehicle dossier or account is created.
Voluntary requests
VIN and recalls through NHTSA
When you press the relevant button, your browser calls the public NHTSA APIs directly. Chapa Lab does not store the VIN or the response.
Preferences
Session-only language
The selected language may be kept temporarily in sessionStorage to preserve navigation. It disappears when the browser session ends.
Future advertising
