The request happens only when you press the button and goes directly to the public NHTSA vPIC API. Chapa Lab does not store the VIN.
- General results by year, make and model. They do not prove that one particular vehicle is affected.
- An absent, incomplete or failed response does not mean zero recalls. NHTSA data is shown in its original language and may have blank fields or warnings. A year, make and model search cannot confirm the status of an individual VIN.

Privacy
The language is stored for the session in sessionStorage. ChapaLab uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to measure visits and loads its script manually. External services receive the data needed to process your request and apply their own policies.
